A Beautiful Morning

Just popping in to say good morning. This has been an eventful morning to say the least. My 5 yr old is home from school sick. So I have a sick child to deal with as well as trying to get my 8 year old son ready for school. And of course my son has no intentions of making things easy for me this morning. He drags his feet about getting up, then he takes his own sweet time getting dressed. So then of course we're rushing out the door to make sure we don't miss the bus. The bus pulls up in front of the driveway, and then it hits me. I FORGOT TO GIVE HIM HIS PILL!!!! So I quickly tell him to meet me at the office that I will be there shortly. I head back to the house to put my boots on and run to the school real quick.

Upon arriving home I find my little girl still sprawled out on the couch asleep. I sit down at the dining room table with a Mt Dew ( I don't drink coffee) and a cigarette. Upon looking out the sliding glass door onto my deck, my eye is drawn to the bush at the bottom of my deck steps, There in the bush was a pheasant eating the winter berries from my  bush's branches. I had never seen one in person before, only in pictures. It was so beautiful and graceful. And it was quite large. At first glance because if its size, I thought it was a hawk. Then I quickly discovered otherwise. Immediately I reached behind me to my camera case hanging on the back of my chair. I zoomed in and started snapping pictures of this beautiful animal. I slowly opened my sliding door and got off a couple more shots before the goofy dogs started barking because they had seen me and it flew away.

But I must say, I found it to be a very calming experience to an already hectic morning. Well, once again, good morning. Have a great day at work everyone. Feel free to tell me how your morning started out.
